I was very encouraged by the response. Not only did it strengthen my sense that we now have a logo that PRIO can live well with for the next decades. We also got very valuable input, including:
- on the visual elements (more on the second design element than on the logo itself; but also the sense that the symbol can be blown up somewhat in relation to PRIO in the logo)
- on the colors (a wish for timeless colors with considerable strength and with some commonality between them)
- on the lay-out (can be simpler, yet reports and policy briefs should have a more easily recognizable PRIO-imprint)
There were other signals, and they have all been conveyed to the designer, who is now working eagerly to further refine all the various elements of the new visual profile. While the logo itself will change only marginally, other elements are likely to look significantly different in the next iteration.
Now that we have cracked the logo nut, the rest is doable, with a good blend of creativity and hard work. This means that PRIO shall have a new profile introduced in 2010, in all likelihood to be launched with this year’s annual report. I shall be keeping you posted. Thanks to all for your input in the process!
