We will start the semester with a big bang. The PRIO Annual Peace Address – with PAPA as the in-house working title – will happen for the first time in history on 18 August this year. This is the introduction to PRIO’s next 50 years, following up on last year’s Anniversary celebration. The Anniversary celebrations, as all great successes, generated a massive demand for more.
The Address will be given by Jon Elster (Collège de France; Columbia), CSCW associate and international academic star of Norwegian origin. Jon will speak about Justice, Peace and Truth, critically scrutinizing the various claims that inform the emerging consensus on the importance of transitional justice. We also have two very capable commentators: Elisabeth Wood (Yale; Santa Fe Institute) and Dagfinn Føllesdal (Stanford; University of Oslo).
The address will be followed by a reception, with wine, food, music, and with good company. Do not forget to sign up!
