My first blog post

Preparing for the PRIO directorship, I have decided to test whether an internal blog could be one useful means of communication with Prioites. I will visit this blog (almost) daily, sharing news and commentary about PRIO and my everyday engagements. Comments are welcome.

Today we have had cake for the current PRIO Director, Stein, who has his last day in the post coming Tuesday. Stein has done a fantastic job as PRIO director over the past eight years, leaving behind a house that is very much in order, and received well deserved praise – and thanks – from Agnete and myself. This is the third celebration of Stein, following the Alumni party hijacking and a leader group dinner at my place. If you are quick, there is still cake left.

The other excitement of my day has been interviewing candidates for the post of Assistant/Adviser to the director, with Andrew and Inger. Out of a pile of 125 applicants, we had a long-shortlist of 12, out of which 4 have been called for interviews. We hope that we can take a decision on this side of the summer. An important position at PRIO and for me.
